Everything we’ve learned about saunas and ice baths, in one place.

These are the guides we wish we’d had when we started. RönYen is based in Thailand, selling and installing saunas and ice baths — and using both most days of the week. The articles cover the practical side of owning them in a tropical climate: what to buy, how to size a heater, how to set up a sauna and cold plunge at home, and what the research actually says about the health benefits. No wellness-guru hype, just honest advice from people who’ve made most of the mistakes already.

New to all this? Start with the Getting Started guides. More interested in the why than the how? The Health & Wellness articles dig into the science and the day-to-day payoff.

If you’d like to see what we offer in person, you’re welcome to visit us at our Chonburi office by appointment — book a free consultation.

How to Look After an Outdoor Sauna in the Thai Climate

People often ask me if a timber sauna will just rot in Thailand. With forty-degree afternoons, ninety per cent humidity, and monsoon rains that feel relentless, it’s easy to think a wooden sauna wouldn’t survive here. But here’s the surprising truth: a sauna actually dries itself from the inside several times a week. Each session […]

How to Maintain Your Ice Bath and Chiller (Without It Becoming a Chore)

I take care of ice baths for a living, so I’ve made just about every maintenance mistake you can imagine. I’ve left the lid off overnight under a frangipani tree, run a chiller with the filter only halfway in and heard it make unhappy noises, and let the water sit a week too long in […]

What Does a Sauna Cost in Thailand? Real Numbers, Not a Quote Form

Most companies in this industry won’t tell you the price up front. You’ll usually see a nice photo, some words about wellness, and a button asking you to contact them for a quote. In other words, they want to know your budget before sharing the price. So here are the real numbers for three sizes […]

Installing a Sauna in Thailand: What You Need Ready Before We Arrive

The install is the easy part. It’s the two weeks before it that catch people out. We show up, build the sauna, and finish up in a day for most cabins. Whether that day goes smoothly depends on what’s ready when we arrive. In my experience, every delayed install has come down to three things […]

Your First Hot and Cold Session: What Actually Happens

Almost everyone has the same first question, but few say it out loud. People ask about the temperature, how long to stay in, or what to bring. But what they really want to know is if they’ll embarrass themselves. You won’t. No one is watching. That’s the main thing, and the rest of this page […]

Infrared or Traditional Sauna? An Honest Comparison for Thailand

Most articles on this topic are written by people who only sell one type of sauna. Infrared sauna companies often claim that traditional saunas are outdated and uncomfortable. Traditional sauna companies, on the other hand, say infrared is just a fancy heat lamp. Both sides are selling their products and not telling the whole story. […]

Inflatable vs Permanent Ice Bath: Which Should You Actually Buy in Thailand?

I started cold plunging in an inflatable. Most people do. Mine was a black drop-stitch tub on the concrete out the back, filled with tap water and bags of ice I drove to the shop to buy. It worked. I got in, I hated the first forty seconds, and I got the recovery I was […]

Do You Need a Chiller for an Ice Bath in Thailand?

For the first few weeks, I used bagged ice for my ice bath. I drove to the shop, brought the bags home, poured them in, and saw much of the ice melt before I even got changed. By the time I finished, the water was already warming up again. The next morning, it was the […]

What’s the Best Wood for Saunas and Ice Baths in Thailand?

The first time I saw a sauna fall apart in Thailand, it was only three years old. The bench tops had warped like surfboards, the wall joints had opened enough to let in daylight, and termites were quietly making their way up one corner. The owner had bought it based on a European spec sheet, […]

Can a Sauna Help You Lose Weight?

I lost 42kg a few years ago. It didn’t happen in a sauna; it took diet, walking, and a long period of being honest with myself about how I reached 130kg in the first place. Still, the sauna was part of the routine that helped me stay sane, and I had to figure out what […]

Your First Ice Bath: A Beginner’s Guide to Cold Water Immersion

I’ll be honest about my first real ice bath. It wasn’t a cold shower or a chilly pool, but an actual cold plunge at about 10°C. I only lasted forty seconds before I got out. I told myself it was a smart move, but really, I just wasn’t ready. The second session was better. The […]

How Much Does an Ice Bath Chiller Cost to Run in Thailand?

Whenever someone asks about a chiller, the first thing they want to know is the running cost. People ask this before anything else—before talking about temperature range, compatibility, or even size. The main question is always: what will this cost me each month? That’s a fair question. A chiller is a big investment, and nobody […]

Common questions

Everything you want to know about saunas & heaters

Outdoor and indoor cabins, barrels, cylinders and sauna + shower combos — from a compact one-person unit up to ten-person commercial rooms, all customisable to your space. Browse saunas.

Western Red Cedar and Finnish Thermo Pine both handle heat and humidity beautifully; Hinoki is our premium pick. We’ll match the timber to your budget and location.

Outdoor saunas are fully weather-sealed for gardens, rooftops and pool decks; indoor models are built for bathrooms, gyms and spare rooms. Both use indoor-rated electric heaters.

Most home saunas run on a dedicated single- or three-phase circuit sized to the heater. We’ll confirm the exact electrical requirement in your quote.

Both are food-grade and corrosion-resistant; 316 adds extra protection for coastal and chlorinated environments. We recommend the right grade for your site. See ice baths.

Ice works to get started, but a chiller holds a precise temperature day after day with no effort — the easiest way to make cold therapy a daily habit.

Our chillers take the water down to around 3°C and hold it there. Most people plunge between 3–10°C depending on experience.

A built-in filtration and sanitation cycle keeps the water fresh for weeks. We’ll walk you through simple water care at handover.

We soft-open on 30 July 2026 in Chonburi (with Founding Member pricing) and fully open on 4 September — and booking is open now, so you can reserve a session ahead. Book a visit.

The Garden runs on advance bookings so every session has the space to itself — so book ahead if you can. That said, if you're passing and spot us, scan the sign at the gate or give us a call, and if there's room in the current session we'll happily wave you in.

Saunas, ice baths, a swimming pool and shaded lounge areas — everything you need for the full hot-and-cold circuit. Explore the garden.

The Wellness Garden is in Chonburi, easily reached from Bangkok and Pattaya. Full directions and parking details are on the garden page.

Yes — most saunas assemble in a day with two or three people and clear instructions. Prefer it done for you? Our team can handle the full install. Installation service.

Delivery to the spot, full assembly, levelling, heater fitting and a handover walkthrough so it’s ready to use the same day.

A firm, level base — a concrete pad, deck or paved area — plus a nearby power point. We’ll send a simple prep checklist before delivery.

Final connection should be made by a licensed electrician. We provide the full specification and can recommend trusted local contractors.

Yes — we deliver right across Thailand by freight, and ship internationally on request. Delivery details.

Most saunas are ready six to eight weeks from order. Once built, freight to your address typically takes a few days, with tracking provided.

Standard nationwide delivery is included. For tricky access — rooftops, tight lanes or upper floors — we’ll quote any crane or extra handling up front.

Everything ships in a purpose-built timber crate to protect the timber and glass in transit — and the crate is easy to dispose of or repurpose.
