Section 1 · First set-up

Set up your bath with a chiller

Seven steps, about half an hour, with the diagrams to match.

1

Place the chiller

Beside the bath, on the same level as it — not above. Lock the castors and give it room to breathe on every side; it pulls air through itself to shed heat. Do not plug it in yet.

  • Shade. The chiller fights the Thai sun — every hour out of direct light is money saved
  • Near a drain and power. You will drain and refill; make both easy
  • Ground floor, on a solid, level base

A filled bath weighs several hundred kilos — make sure your flooring can hold the weight.

Cold feed Return Airflow
Never enclosed in a cabinet — the chiller needs open air on all sides.
2

Connect the hoses

Wrap the threads with plumber's tape, then hand-tighten. Direction matters: the chiller's OUT goes to the bath's IN, and the bath's OUT returns to the chiller's IN.

3

Fill the bath — and watch the level

Tap or garden hose, straight in. The water surface must sit above the chiller's inlet — this is the rule that makes everything work. If the chiller's inlet is above the waterline, the pump sucks air instead of water.

Upper limit: keep it below the bath's own inlet fitting.

4

Prime the machine

The filter housing is under the cap on top of the chiller. Open it, pour water in until full, seat the paper filter element, tighten the cap hand-tight.

Never start a chiller dry — an empty pump runs loud and wears itself out.

5

Power on

Breaker first, then the power button. Plug into a standard 220–240V wall socket.

No extension cords. Water and power share this corner of your garden — the chiller plugs directly into the wall, always.

Check the panel: water flow should read above 15 L/min.

6

Set your temperature

Set your temperature on the touchscreen or in the app — anywhere from 0 to 42°C, so the same bath does cold plunges and hot soaks. Put the lid on while it pulls down; it gets there noticeably faster.

7

Before you get in, power the chiller off

Plunge, then switch it back on when you're out.

Five rules that keep your chiller alive
  1. Never run it dry or with hoses disconnected
  2. Water level above the chiller's inlet, always — and below the bath's inlet fitting
  3. Power off before cleaning the built-in filter or swapping the paper element — close both valves first, reopen after (“+” is closed, “–” is open)
  4. A clean paper filter element goes in before every start
  5. Power off before you get in
Fill it in the evening, plunge in the morning — smaller baths are ready the same evening.
Bath sizeWaterFirst pull-down, 1.5HP*
Barrel320 L≈ 4 hours
Tub-class~500 L≈ 6 hours
Large~800 Lovernight

*From 30°C tap water down to 5°C — a 1.5HP chiller moves roughly 1 hour per 80 litres; a 2.0HP roughly 1 hour per 100 litres, so scale the times down.

Lid on = meaningfully faster Shade helps First fill only — holding is ~0.5 kWh a day

Running it day to day

Two honest ways to run it — pick whichever suits your mornings.

The cheap option

Always ready

Lid on, it just sits there cold, ready whenever you are.

Holding costs ~0.5 kWh a day — a few baht per day.

On a timer

Scheduled

Set the app timer — on at 5am, ready by 10am, off after the last plunge at 10pm, lid on overnight. With the lid on, the water only drifts a few degrees, so the morning re-cool is 1–2 hours, not a full pull-down.

Schedule for noise (52 dB — fridge-quiet, but it's your call at 3am) or preference, not cost.

App control — set schedules and change the target temperature from anywhere. Your bath is cold before you're home.

The one ruleLid on whenever you're not in it — keeps it cold, keeps the sanitiser working, keeps debris out.

If something seems off

Not cooling

Check the airflow clearance around the chiller, then rinse the filter — those two solve almost every case.

Noisy

Check the base is level and the castors are locked — a rocking chiller hums louder than it should.

Flow reading low or gurgling

Air is trapped inside (common when both bath fittings sit under the waterline). Open the drainer briefly to bleed it out; flow recovers straight away.

Section 2 · Water care

Clean your bath with a chiller

Six verbs, once a week, a few minutes each. The chiller's filter and ozone do the daily work between them.

SCRUB

Weekly · 10 minutes

The weekly once-over

  • Skim leaves and debris off the surface
  • Dip a test strip — pH, sanitiser, hardness in 60 seconds
  • Top up stabiliser to the table below
  • Rinse the filter — cap on TOP of the chiller. Power off first, close both valves, element out, rinse, back in, valves open
  • Wipe the waterline with a microfibre cloth

The chiller also runs ozone disinfection as it circulates. It works alongside the stabiliser, not instead of it — keep dosing and testing as normal.

Every few weeks

Water change

With a chiller, the filter and ozone stretch a fill to weeks. When the strips say it's time:

1Drain 2Clean the inner — stabiliser solution + brush 3Rinse 4Refill 5Re-dose 6Restart

Never run the chiller dry. Switch it off before you drain, back on after the refill.

Barrel · 320 L≈ 160 ml — about a third of the bottle≈ 50 ml

Then dip a strip and adjust — the strips are the truth, the table is the starting point.

One bottle lasts

≈ 2–3 first fills, or a couple of months of weekly maintenance on the barrel.

Never mix with chlorine pool products. Store the bottle out of the sun.

An insulated stainless bath holds its temperature noticeably longer than PVC or timber-lined tubs — the chiller runs less and costs less to keep cold.

Never on the tub Abrasives Steel wool Chlorine concentrates — the 304/316 stainless inner needs nothing harsher than the kit.
The one ruleLid on whenever you're not in it — sunlight breaks down the peroxide; the lid keeps it working.

Running low on stabiliser or strips?

The full kit is ฿1,490 — all six items, delivered. Bath arrived before the kit existed? Same link — it fits every RonYen bath.

Section 3 · Water care, manual

Clean your bath without a chiller

No circulation, no filter, no ozone — the water works harder. Same kit, same six verbs, shorter cycle.

Using plain water with no stabiliser? Change it every day. Using the kit? Dose it, test it, and a fill lasts a few days — let the strip tell you, not the calendar.

Melting ice is new water — it dilutes your stabiliser. After a big ice session, dip a strip and top up the dose.

Between changes · daily-ish

Keep it holding

  • Lid on and shaded — sun feeds algae and breaks down the peroxide
  • Skim daily — debris has nowhere else to go
  • Strip every couple of days, top up stabiliser per the table in section 2
At each change

At each change

  • Drain completely
  • Stabiliser solution + brush on the inner, soft cloth for the waterline
  • Rinse, refill, re-dose — dip a strip to confirm

The routine runs on the kit

Section 4 · Material care

Care for an inflatable ice bath

This is material care for the PVC drop-stitch shell — the water routine is the same as any bath: section 2 with a chiller, section 3 without.

Stabiliser is PVC-safe — diluted

The 6% stabiliser is fine diluted in the water. Wiping seams directly? Dilute first — never apply neat to seam welds.

Mild soapy water only on the shell

No solvents, alcohol or chlorine concentrates — they attack PVC and the seam welds.

Seams and creases first

Mould starts in the folds — the silicone brush is made for exactly this.

Shade is a double rule here

UV fades and embrittles PVC and warms the water. Keep it out of the sun.

Rinse the drain valve

Flush the gunk out at each water change — it's where everything collects.

Dry completely before storing

Fold it damp once and it comes out speckled. Air it fully, then deflate, fold and store indoors.

Watch the sharp things. Jewellery, pet claws and anything pointed near the shell. If it ever does get a nick — your repair kit is in the box.

The one ruleLid on whenever you're not in it — cold, clean and covered.

One kit covers the whole range — stainless, acrylic and inflatable baths all use the same six items.

Everything you want to know about saunas & heaters

Outdoor and indoor cabins, barrels, cylinders and sauna + shower combos — from a compact one-person unit up to ten-person commercial rooms, all customisable to your space. Browse saunas.

Western Red Cedar and Finnish Thermo Pine both handle heat and humidity beautifully; Hinoki is our premium pick. We’ll match the timber to your budget and location.

Outdoor saunas are fully weather-sealed for gardens, rooftops and pool decks; indoor models are built for bathrooms, gyms and spare rooms. Both use indoor-rated electric heaters.

Most home saunas run on a dedicated single- or three-phase circuit sized to the heater. We’ll confirm the exact electrical requirement in your quote.

Both are food-grade and corrosion-resistant; 316 adds extra protection for coastal and chlorinated environments. We recommend the right grade for your site. See ice baths.

Ice works to get started, but a chiller holds a precise temperature day after day with no effort — the easiest way to make cold therapy a daily habit.

Our chillers take the water down to around 3°C and hold it there. Most people plunge between 3–10°C depending on experience.

A built-in filtration and sanitation cycle keeps the water fresh for weeks. We’ll walk you through simple water care at handover.
