Circular Wood & Stainless Steel Ice Bath

This circular cold plunge is built for daily use — not a plastic tub or an inflatable novelty. The red cedar exterior is selected for grain consistency and natural oils that resist moisture and weathering, making it well-suited to both indoor and outdoor installation in a tropical climate. The 304-grade stainless steel interior is fully hygienic and corrosion-resistant, and it retains heat longer than plastic or fibreglass alternatives.

Frequently Asked Questions
What size should I choose?
The small (1000×800mm) suits one person comfortably for solo use. The medium and large (both 1200×800mm) provide more room and are suited to larger individuals or settings where multiple users rotate through sessions. If in doubt, the 1200mm diameter is the more practical choice for home use.
Do I need a chiller unit, or can I use ice?
The bath works with either. Ice is a straightforward option for occasional use. For daily use or consistent target temperatures, a compatible chiller unit is more practical and cost-effective over time. The chiller connects to the bath and maintains temperature without manual ice top-ups.
Can this be installed outdoors in a tropical climate?
Yes. The red cedar exterior has natural oils that resist moisture and humidity, and the 316-grade stainless steel interior is corrosion-resistant. Both materials are appropriate for outdoor installation in a tropical environment. Position the bath where it is not subject to prolonged direct sun on the timber, which can cause surface checking over time.
How long does it take to cool the water to 10°C?
With a compatible 1.0HP and 2.0HP chiller unit, the water reaches approximately 10°C within 2–3 hours from ambient temperature. Starting water temperature and ambient air temperature will affect this. In warmer climates, pre-cooling with ice or filling with cooler water can reduce chilling time.
What maintenance does the cedar exterior require?
Very little. Red cedar is naturally resistant to moisture and does not require regular sealing or oiling. Wipe down after use, keep the base clear of standing water, and optionally apply a food-safe timber oil annually to maintain appearance. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners on the timber.

About this ice bath

Overview

Available in three sizes to suit solo plungers through to group setups, the circular form allows for natural full-immersion positioning. Heavy-duty stainless steel bands and hardware hold the structure together and add visual contrast to the warm cedar slats. A black vinyl lid is included to retain cold temperatures between sessions.

The bath is compatible with a dedicated chiller unit for precise, consistent temperature control or with ice. It suits both residential and commercial installations and can be positioned on any load-bearing surface, indoors or outdoors.

Installation

The bath arrives assembled. There is no build.

Base
It needs a flat, level, load-bearing base. Concrete, tile, a paved terrace or a
properly framed timber deck all work. Level matters more than most people expect: a
bath sitting out of level fills unevenly and the waterline shows it.

Weight when full
Water alone, at 200 mm below the rim:

900 mm bath, 700 high, around 275 kg
900 mm bath, 800 high, around 330 kg
1200 mm bath, 700 high, around 510 kg
1200 mm bath, 800 high, around 615 kg
2000 mm bath, 700 high, around 1,480 kg
2000 mm bath, 800 high, around 1,775 kg

Add the shell, plus the person in it. On a ground-floor slab this is rarely an issue.
On a roof, a balcony, a timber deck or any suspended floor, have the structure checked
and signed off before delivery. This is the single thing most worth getting in writing.

Plumbing
There is no fixed plumbing. The bath has a drain fitting and, if you are running a
chiller, an inlet and an outlet.

Inlet and outlet are 1/2 inch. Our chillers use the same, so the hoses supplied with
the chiller connect straight to the bath with no adaptors.

Fill from a garden hose. Drain to a garden bed, a floor waste or a soakaway. Position
the bath so the drain runs away from the base rather than pooling under it.

Chiller placement
A chiller sits beside the bath, not underneath it. Allow around 500 mm clear behind
and to the sides for airflow, keep it out of direct afternoon sun where you can, and
give it its own dedicated power circuit. Full electrical requirements are on the
chiller's own page.

Access
Measure the route in, not just the space it is going. Gates, side passages, stairs,
lift doors and any corner tight enough to need the bath turned on its side. The 2000
in particular needs a genuine look at the path before it is ordered.

Professional installation is available across Thailand as an optional add-on.

Warranty

If an electrical item stops working within the warranty period, we’ll send you a replacement free of charge.

Structural components are covered against manufacturing defects. Please confirm warranty duration and specific coverage terms with the supplier before listing.

Care & Maintenance

Cedar exterior
Wipe down the cedar slats with a damp cloth after each use. Do not use harsh chemical cleaners or pressure washers directly on the timber. Allow the exterior to dry naturally between sessions — avoid leaving standing water pooled at the base for extended periods. The natural oils in red cedar provide inherent moisture resistance; no sealing or oiling is required under normal use, though an annual light application of a food-safe timber oil can help maintain appearance.

Stainless steel interior
Rinse the 316-grade stainless steel interior with clean water after each session. For periodic deep cleaning, use a mild, non-abrasive stainless steel cleaner and rinse thoroughly before refilling. Avoid bleach-based products, which can compromise the steel's surface over time.

Water maintenance
If the bath is kept filled, change the water regularly — weekly for high-use installations, fortnightly for light use. A compatible chiller unit with built-in filtration will extend water change intervals. pH-neutral water treatment tablets are recommended for shared or commercial use.

Hardware
Inspect the stainless steel bands and fasteners every three to six months for any signs of corrosion or loosening and tighten as needed. The hardware is 316-grade and suited to outdoor environments, but periodic checks will extend service life.

Returns & Refunds

Terms & Conditions

Built to order
Every bath is made after the order is placed. Because nothing is built until you
order it, made-to-order baths cannot be returned or exchanged for change of mind.
Anything faulty is covered under warranty.

Deposit and balance
A deposit confirms the order and starts production. The balance falls due before
dispatch. Your quote states both figures.

Prices
Quoted prices hold for 30 days. They include 7% VAT and delivery within Thailand.
They exclude electrical work, structural certification, crane hire and any site
preparation.

Site readiness
The base, the access route and the power supply are the customer's responsibility
and need to be ready on the delivery date. Where a bath is going onto a roof, a
balcony, a deck or any suspended floor, written structural sign-off is required
before delivery.

Changes
Specification changes are possible before production starts. Once the build is
under way a change may not be possible, and where it is, it may carry a cost.

Colour and grain
Timber is a natural material. Colour, grain and figure vary between boards and
between baths, and timber left outdoors changes colour over time. Photographs are
representative rather than exact.

Common questions

Everything you want to know about saunas & heaters

Outdoor and indoor cabins, barrels, cylinders, cube and modern designs, plus sauna-and-shower combos — from a compact one-person unit up to fourteen-person commercial rooms. Every model is made to order and customisable to your space. Browse saunas.

Red Cedar and Finnish Thermo Pine both handle heat and humidity beautifully — cedar for its aroma and natural rot resistance, thermo pine for its stability in wet conditions. Japanese Hinoki is our premium pick. Canadian Hemlock is excellent value for indoor cabins. We’ll match the timber to your budget, look and location.

Outdoor saunas are fully weather-sealed for gardens, rooftops and pool decks. Indoor models are built for bathrooms, gyms and spare rooms. Both use the same indoor-rated electric stone heaters — the difference is the exterior cladding and weatherproofing.

It depends on the internal volume of the cabin. As a guide: 4.5kW for 3–6 m³, 6kW for 5–8 m³, 9kW for 8–11 m³, 12kW for 11–15 m³, 15kW for 13–18 m³ and 18kW for 15–20 m³. Above 20 m³ takes two heaters. Up to and including 9kW runs on single phase; above that is three phase only, which in practice means anything from a six-person cabin upwards. We confirm the exact requirement in your quote so your electrician knows precisely what to install.

Both are food-grade and corrosion-resistant. 316 adds extra protection for coastal air and chlorinated water, so it’s the safer choice near the sea or beside a pool. 304 is excellent value everywhere else. We’ll recommend the right grade for your site. See ice baths.

Ice works to get started, but it melts fast in Thailand and gets expensive. A chiller holds a precise temperature day after day with no effort — it’s the easiest way to make cold therapy a daily habit rather than an occasional event.

Our chillers run from 0°C to 42°C, so the same unit chills in the hot season and heats in the cool one. Most people plunge between 3°C and 10°C. Beginners usually start around 12–15°C and work down over a few weeks.

Our chillers include filtration and ozone sanitation that keep the water fresh for weeks between changes: run the ozone for 30–60 minutes after each session with the lid on, and the hydrogen peroxide in the cleaning kit keeps the water clean in between (about 160 ml on a fresh 320 L fill, then ~50 ml a week, checked with a test strip). Both are safe on stainless, acrylic and PVC baths. We walk you through it at handover — it’s far less work than a pool.

Yes, for saunas in commercial operation. A room running twelve hours a day carries four to six times the load of a home installation, and scheduled servicing is what keeps it performing and keeps the warranty intact. Commercial servicing.

Yes — every sauna arrives in a sealed timber crate with the wall sections already built, and most assemble in a day with two or three people and the supplied instructions. No specialist tools needed. Prefer it done for you? Our team can handle the full install. Installation service.

Delivery to the spot, full assembly, levelling, fitting the heater, and a handover walkthrough so it’s ready to use the same day. It’s the easy option if you’d rather not build it yourself.

A firm, level base — a concrete pad, deck or paved area — plus a power point within reach for the heater. We send a simple prep checklist before delivery so everything’s ready when your sauna arrives.

The final hard-wire connection of the heater should be made by a licensed electrician — that part isn’t included, for safety and compliance. We supply the full heater specification and can recommend trusted local contractors.
